Covid-19 Safe Practice Policy
The health and safety of everyone visiting the clinic is paramount. This policy follows the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) Covid-19 safe practice guidelines and is reviewed regularly.
Before Your Appointment
We assess whether it is clinically safe to treat each patient at the time of scheduling. Please inform us before attending if you or anyone in your household has symptoms of Covid-19 or any other contagious respiratory illness.
Before treatment can proceed, you will be asked to read and sign the BAcC consent form covering Covid-19 screening. If in-person treatment is not appropriate, a telephone or online consultation may be offered as an alternative where clinically suitable.
Going to the Clinic
- Please travel light and bring as little as possible into the clinic. Where practical, leave bags and coats in your car.
- A wipeable container is available for belongings and clothes you bring with you.
- Attend alone unless you require a chaperone, parent, or carer — please let us know in advance if this is the case.
Your Treatment
Special arrangements are in place to safeguard you during your acupuncture treatment:
- Hand sanitiser is provided — please use it on arrival and after your treatment.
- The consultation takes place at a comfortable distance. During treatment, the practitioner wears a mask and asks that you do the same. You may bring your own mask or one will be provided at the clinic.
- Fresh towels and couch roll are used for every patient and changed between appointments.
- Massage techniques are performed with gloves. Heat lamps and moxa treatments are unaffected.
After Your Treatment
The treatment room is thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and aired between every patient.
If you develop Covid-19 symptoms or receive a confirmed diagnosis within 48 hours of attending the clinic, please inform both the NHS Test and Trace service and the clinic as soon as possible by calling 07879 846483 or emailing info@amandaody.com.
These protocols are in place for everyone's safety — your own, other patients', and the practitioner's. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
