Privacy & Data Protection Policy

At Amanda Ody Acupuncture, your privacy is central to how we practise. In line with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), we are required to advise our patients of our Data Protection Policy. Every consultation — whether acupuncture, herbal medicine, or cupping — is conducted with strict medical confidentiality, and your records are held to the same standards you would expect from any NHS or private healthcare provider.

Confidentiality

All information provided will be treated as confidential, and will not be given to any other person or organisation without your written consent.

Patient Records

This clinic is required to retain information for the purposes of consultations for treatment and recording subsequent treatments. Third-party medical practitioners may only access this information with your specific permission.

Communication with Your GP

During treatment it may be helpful to inform your GP about areas of your health and treatment, or to obtain details of your medical history. This will only be done with your written consent, and we will inform you before doing so.

Record Retention

All paper files and information may be electronically scanned and stored on computer file, or alternatively retained as paper records, for the duration of your relationship with the clinic and thereafter for a period of 7 years.

Access to Your Information

Information held both manually and electronically in files will be accessible only to staff of the clinic. You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you at any time.
